ProActive Investors - Antipa Minerals strikes multiple near-surface gold zones at GEO-01 South, Minyari Dome
Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX: AZY) has identified multiple new zones of shallow, near-surface gold mineralisation at the GEO-01 South prospect of the Minyari Dome Gold-Copper Project in Western Australia with a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.
The drilling program highlighted mineralisation in several areas of the southern zone of the GEO-01 prospect, which stretches over an area of 700 metres by 500 metres.
Gold intersections of note included 23 metres at 2.8 g/t gold from 77 metres of depth, with higher-grade intersections of 8 metres at 7.7 g/t from 88 metres and 3 metres at 18.2 g/t from 90 metres.
More results to come
“We are very pleased with this initial batch of assay outcomes from the Phase 2 CY2024 program at Minyari,” Antipa Minerals managing director Roger Mason said.
“The ongoing growth potential of the GEO-01 satellite resource is again evidenced by these results, as we continue to discover new zones of shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation across the broader prospect area.
“We look forward to a pipeline of assay results over coming months as the Phase 2 drilling program advances towards its targeted conclusion in late November.”
Other gold results of note included:
- 32 metres at 2.4 g/t gold and 0.06% copper from 140 metres, including 4 metres at 8.9 g/t gold from 140 metres, 13 metres at 3.0 g/t gold and 0.12% copper from 157 metres and 3 metres at 7.5 g/t gold and 0.31% copper from 160 metres;
- 40 metres at 1 g/t gold and 0.13% copper from 26 metres, including 17 metres at 2.2 g./t gold and 0.25% copper from 29 metres and 2 metres at 11 g/t gold and 0.15% copper from 37 metres; and
- 27 metres at 1 g/t gold and 0.16% copper from 51 metres, including 5 metres at 1.9 g/t gold and 0.18% copper from 52 metres.
GEO-01 deposit open
The company says the gold mineralisation at GEO-01 is open in most directions, with potential for more resource growth with further exploration.
An RC drill hole targeting a plunging offset at the Minyari Dome deposit also returned encouraging low-grade gold mineralisation, with strong pathfinder anomalism and alteration increasing toward the bottom of the hole, indicating there may be higher-grade gold at depth.
Antipa is planning to begin a pre-feasibility study for Minyari Dome, based on a positive result from an upcoming scoping study and approval from the board of directors, to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
Minyari’s mineral resource estimate sits at 2.3 million ounces of gold, 84,000 tonnes of copper, 661,000 ounces of silver and 13,000 tonnes of cobalt at 1.5 g/t gold and 0.18% copper.
