Proactive - Antipa Minerals expands gold-copper discovery at Minyari Dome with high-grade intersections

By Lisa Uhlman

Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY) has reported a significant expansion of gold and copper mineralisation at its Minyari Gold-Copper Project in Western Australia. The latest assay results, from the second batch of drilling under the CY2025 Phase 1 programme, reinforce the potential for further resource growth at the company’s flagship project in the Paterson Province.

Located within a world-class mining district, the Minyari Project has consistently delivered strong exploration results. The current results, derived from 54 holes, confirm notable extensions to the Minyari Dome's known mineralisation, as well as new gold-copper zones south of Fiama and Rizzo.

The high-grade intersections reported are part of Antipa’s dual-purpose drilling programme designed to both expand existing resources and test greenfield targets across the 4,100-square-kilometre Minyari Project tenement.

Expanded resource potential at Minyari Dome

The new assay results show that Antipa has successfully extended the Minyari Dome Deposit, with several high-grade intersections reported from both the Minyari South and GEO-01 Prospect Areas. Notable results include:

  • 41m at 1.8 g/t gold and 0.18% copper from 98m in hole 25MYC0697;
  • 3m at 11.3 g/t gold, 1.20% copper, 2.3 g/t silver, and 0.11% cobalt from 113m in hole 25MYC0697;
  • 1m at 35.0 g/t gold, 0.06% copper, and 0.30% cobalt from 258m in hole 25MYD0538;
  • 10m at 3.1 g/t gold and 0.06% copper from 149m in hole 25MYC0707;
  • 10m at 2.0 g/t gold from 31m in hole 25MYD0539.

These results confirm the broader potential of the Minyari Dome and highlight the project's ability to host high-grade gold-copper mineralisation both near surface and at depth. The intersections from Minyari South, in particular, open up new opportunities for resource growth, with the area remaining open along strike and at depth.

New discoveries south of Fiama and Rizzo

The second batch of assays also includes results from the company’s new discovery drilling, which has uncovered additional gold-copper mineralisation south of Fiama and Rizzo. These results are key to expanding the overall project and could contribute to a substantial increase in the resource base.

Notable results from this drilling include:

  • 60m at 0.4 g/t gold and 0.15% copper from 4m in 25MYC0750, including 8m at 1.2 g/t gold, 0.31% copper, and 0.6 g/t silver from 44m;
  • 2m at 0.3 g/t gold, 4.4% copper, and 4.4 g/t silver from 131m in 25MYC0750;
  • 4m at 1.8 g/t gold from 100m in 25MYC0723.

These results represent a significant breakthrough for the project, with the discovery of new, shallow mineralisation zones highlighting the potential for a larger, more extensive deposit.

Drilling programme advances with Phase 2 set to begin

Antipa’s CY2025 Phase 1 drilling programme is now complete, with a total of 304 holes completed for 34,179 metres of drilling across air core, reverse circulation (RC) and diamond core.

Phase 2 is set to commence in mid-August 2025 and will include 25,000 to 35,000 metres of drilling. This follow-up program is expected to deliver further exciting results, with assay results from the remaining Phase 1 holes anticipated in Q3 CY2025.

“These latest results continue a steady stream of new discoveries that highlight the broader potential of Minyari Dome, with drilling confirming a new gold-copper discovery and materially extending mineralisation across several deposits,” Antipa managing director Roger Mason said, adding that Antipa believes Minyari Dome has the potential to support a long-life standalone gold development.

Project development and pre-feasibility study

Alongside its active exploration drilling, Antipa is advancing its Minyari Dome pre-feasibility study (PFS), with technical workstreams progressing in parallel to ensure the project's development potential is fully realised. The PFS is expected to be completed by mid-2026, with drilling and permitting work ongoing.

An updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) incorporating the latest Phase 1 results is scheduled for completion in September 2025, which will help further define the resource base and support ongoing development efforts at Minyari Dome.

“With results from Phase 1 drilling continuing to deliver on both discovery and resource growth fronts, Phase 2 drilling set to commence in the coming weeks, and our pre-feasibility study advancing in parallel, we look forward to updating our shareholders with a steady stream of news through the remainder of this year," Mason said.
