ProActive Investors - Antipa Minerals appoints Topdrill for major 2023 drilling program at Minyari Dome

Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY) (Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY)) has appointed drilling contractor Topdrill to undertake a “growth-oriented” exploration program at its wholly-owned Minyari Dome Project in Western Australia.

The program is expected to comprise roughly 9,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC), 5,000 metres of aircore and 1,000 metres of diamond core drilling, focusing on the Minyari Plunge and GEO-01 copper-gold targets.
Preliminary testing of other targets, including Chicane and several greenfield areas, will also be carried out in conjunction with a soil geochemical sampling program.

Minyari North resource on the cards

Drilling is scheduled to begin in May and the results are expected to help inform a maiden Minyari North copper-gold resource estimate.

“With the appointment of Topdrill we are set to begin the significantly expanded 2023 exploration program at Minyari Dome commencing with the reverse circulation component,” Antipa Minerals managing director Roger Mason said.
“The team looks forward to interrogating the high potential growth targets identified in more detail, including the Minyari Plunge, GEO-01 and Minyari North gold-copper targets.”

Team back on site after cyclone

Antipa’s exploration team arrived back at the Minyari camp - around 400 kilometres from Port Hedland and 250 kilometres from the Western Australian coastline - on April 18, having been evacuated prior to Cyclone Ilsa making landfall on April 13.

Though Ilsa is estimated to have caused approximately $4 million worth of damage in the region, no material damage was reported at Minyari.

Minyari Dome

Located in Western Australia’s highly prospective Paterson Province, the Minyari Dome project covers 877 square kilometres in close proximity to Newcrest’s Telfer mine, as well as major copper-gold discoveries such as Rio Tinto’s Winu and Newcrest-Greatland Gold’s Havieron deposits.

In May 2022, Antipa unveiled a significantly expanded - by roughly 250% - resource estimate for Minyari Dome. The project is thought to hold 1.8 million ounces of gold, 584,000 ounces of silver, 64,300 tonnes of copper and 11,100 tonnes of cobalt.
