Proactive Investors - Antipa Minerals ‘hits the ground running’ for 2024 with promising gold results from diamond drilling at Minyari Dome
Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX: AZY) has unveiled the final assays from phase two 2023 diamond drilling at its wholly owned Minyari Dome Gold-Copper Project in Western Australia's Paterson Province, which point to significant gold discoveries with copper to boot.
Strong results
A second diamond core drill hole at the GEO-01 prospect returned 27 metres at 0.7 g/t gold from 34 metres downhole, including an 8-metre section at 1.4 g/t gold and a notable 1 metre at 4.8 g/t gold.
Another section showed 23 metres at 0.8 g/t gold and 0.02% copper, pointing to the presence of high-grade gold and copper mineralisation.
Additionally, initial results from the Tetris target's 873-metre diamond core drill hole indicated promising base and precious metal mineral system signatures, including 6.7 metres at 0.54% zinc, 0.12% lead and 1.0 g/t silver, revealing the diversity of mineralisation within the project area.
Antipa managing director Roger Mason said: “Results from the second diamond hole into our GEO-01 discovery confirmed the intersection of high-grade gold mineralisation and continue to demonstrate the quality of this resource opportunity.
Multiple open zones
“Importantly, multiple zones of gold mineralisation remain open, which we intend to target for strike and depth extensions during our 2024 drill programs.
“At Tetris, we consider the presence of multiple pathfinder metal associations returned encouraging and with just 12% of the 1,200-metre horizontal magnetic anomaly footprint traversed in this first round of drilling, there remains further potential within the boundary of this large anomaly.
“We’ve hit the ground running to start the year and there is a significant amount of activity ongoing as we complete planning for our upcoming programs.
“We look forward to updating shareholders shortly with results of our expanded regional aircore program expected late this month, and with the commencement of maiden drilling at our three exciting Pacman targets.”
The company is waiting on assays from an expanded regional aircore drilling program, due later this month, which will be incorporated into its 2024 drilling programs.
This includes preparations for follow-up drilling at the GEO-01 gold discovery and the initiation of drilling at three high-potential Pacman targets.
The phase two exploration drilling program covered 178 holes and 11,248 metres, including reverse circulation, diamond core and aircore drilling, with all RC and diamond core drill holes now assayed.
What’s next?
The outcomes from GEO-01 and Tetris have provided Antipa with valuable insights into the mineralisation present, supporting further exploration and development activities in 2024.
The company is readying to kick off an ambitious 11,000-metre phase three drilling program in March 2024, aimed at deepening exploration at the project.
This next phase will be informed by the results from phase two drilling and supported by further Exploration Incentive Scheme co-funding drilling grants.
